What if ...we could break free from our socially constructed gender stereotypes?

First of all, think about it.

WHO says you have to abide by them anyway? A tradition that was created by dead people that you are blindly following?

Let's set ourselves free!

Let’s say, we could free ourselves from the socially constructed gender stereotypes - would you think it would be a more equitable world for everyone?

These stereotypes are harmful to both men and women, and they need to be eliminated. People should be able to express themselves in any way they choose, without feeling like they have to conform to certain expectations.

A study by the American Psychological Association found that gender stereotypes can lead to anxiety and depression in children and adults.

Yes, folks, this is a serious business, we are talking about people’s well-being, people’s lives!

Another study by the University of Utah found that when men and women are held to traditional gender roles, it hurts both genders. Women expected to be caretakers and men the breadwinners.  Well, what if you a woman and you are simply not a caretaker? Or you are a men and you love to take care of people?

We can create a much better world. It starts with ourselves. Looking at your own judgements towards other people, and looking at all the ‘Shoul'd or ‘Have’to’s’ that you’ve put on yourself.

We can create a better world by working together to break down these barriers.
